Holy Family Hospital, the Friends of the Hospital Association, in cooperation with the Mariam Foundation for Cancer Support, held the health awareness conference “Because You Are Precious, Be Aware.”

As it does every year, the Holy Family Hospital organized the “Because You Are Precious, Be Aware” awareness conference in collaboration with the Mariam Foundation and under the patronage of the Friends of the Hospital Association. The conference included a series of medical and educational lectures.

The conference was opened by the hospital’s Public Relations Director, Mrs. Odette Shoumer, followed by speeches from the Hospital Director Dr. Ibrahim Harbaji, the President of the Friends of the Hospital Association Mr. Jiries Boulos, the Director and Founder of the Mariam Foundation Mohammad Hamed, Dr. Ayman Harbaji, and Dr. Kamel Mahamid, who delivered a lecture on cancerous tumors. Ms. Shaden Fares, Director of Mariam House—the first psychological therapy center for cancer patients—also spoke, along with Dr. Mahmoud Zidan, who addressed breast surgery and reconstruction, and Dr. Laila Lahhoud Shoufani, who gave a talk on how couples in the Arab community cope with breast cancer.

The conference included raffles for valuable prizes. At the end, the “Nagham Club Choir” from Eilaboun performed a musical segment for participants. Afterwards, everyone gathered around a generous meal prepared by “Ta’alilkom,” managed by Jalal Qabti, and gifts were distributed to attendees by Bank Hapoalim Nazareth and La Roche-Posay.
