Mariam Foundation Participates in Launching the “Pink October” Campaign in Dura
The Mariam Foundation for Cancer participated in launching the “Pink October” breast cancer awareness campaign, held this morning at Dura Governmental Hospital in partnership with the Dura Municipality and the Dura Youth Council, as part of the Nurse Navigator Project.
The campaign aims to raise health awareness among women and encourage them to undergo early breast cancer screening, given its vital role in prevention and early treatment. It also seeks to empower women and the local community, and to promote mental and social well-being through a comprehensive, community-based approach.
The event featured the participation of doctors from the Mariam Doctors team, Nurse Navigator Bara’a Rajoub, members and volunteers from the Dura Youth Council and Dura Municipality, as well as doctors and nurses from Dura Governmental Hospital.
The activity saw great engagement from patients and visitors and included:
Introducing the hospital’s departments and preparations for launching a new cancer ward.
Guiding women to receive free mammogram screenings.
Hosting varied awareness activities, children’s entertainment sessions, and psychological support workshops for dialysis patients.
Demonstrating how to perform breast self-examinations.
In addition, introductory meetings were held to establish new partnerships between the Mariam Foundation and several local associations and organizations in Dura, aimed at strengthening sustainable collaboration in awareness, early detection, and psychosocial support.
Together, we are changing the journey of cancer patients in Palestine.
