Mariam Foundation, in partnership with Al-Hurriya Theatre, the Jenin Directorate of Health, the General Union of Palestinian Women, the Al-Kamandjati Association, and Jenin Municipality, organized the “Pink October” awareness event on Thursday, 30 October 2025, at the Korean Theatre in Jenin. The event was held as part of national efforts to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, under the umbrella of the Nurse Navigator Project.
The program featured a theatrical performance titled “Shatha’s Triangle” by Al-Hurriya Theatre, followed by a musical performance by the Al-Kamandjati Association. The event also included welcoming remarks from the partner organizations, a speech by the Ministry of Health on cancer, a statement by the General Union of Palestinian Women, and an awareness presentation by Mariam Foundation highlighting its projects and role in the local community. The Foundation also explained the importance of early screening and provided information on the registration process and how to undergo the screening.
The event aimed to promote health awareness, encourage women to undergo early breast cancer screening, and strengthen cooperation among health, cultural, and community institutions.
Mariam Foundation and its partners in Jenin reaffirm that such initiatives play a vital role in raising health awareness and motivating women to seek early screening, as early detection saves lives.
The Nurse Navigator Project is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS), with support from the people of Japan.
